Villa Melnik have quickly become a favourite here at The Cheeseboard and it’s easy to see why. This family owned winery, tucked away in the most beautiful setting in South West Bulgaria, champion local grapes and under the leadership of patriarch Nikola ‘Moustache’ continue to impress us with every bottle we open.

Not an orange in sight – except maybe on the label! This clean, fresh, and wonderfully exuberant wine is a combination of the white grapes Sauvignon Blanc and the local Keratsuda. Just a few weeks on the skins to extract a little bit of that orange tinge to the colour and a heck of a load of flavour.

With their modern gravity flow winery, organically produced grapes, and vegan friendly wines, we think it’s time for everyone else to see just why we love these wines!
