From the Auvergne, this cheese was first given to Louis XIV by the Marechal de Senneterre. It is made from the rich milk of the Salers cows. It has a silky texture and full-flavoured spicy, walnut flavours.
Try with Pinot Noir.

First had this cheese in a restaurant and loved it, so I looked for somewhere to buy it. Bought some from here and it was just as lovely as I remembered it: silky, nutty, mushroomy. I’m about to buy some more!
