Isle of Mull Cheddar

Description

This lovely, full-flavoured cheddar is made Jeff and Chris Reade on Scriob Ruadh Farm. Because the cows have to be kept inside for most of the year, their diet must be supplemented. One of the things they are fed are the spent grain husks from the whisky distillery at Tobermory which is called draff. Sometimes you get slightly boozy flavours in this cheese, though perhaps it’s just our imagination running away with us?
